aTutor ondersteunt SCORM 1.2
Ook aTutor, het bekende open source ELO uit Canada, ondersteunt in middels de IMS/SCORM Content Packaging specificatie,
allowing content developers to create reusable content that can be swapped between different e-learning systems. Content created in other IMS or SCORM comformant systems can be imported into ATutor, and visa versa. ATutor also includes a SCORM 1.2 Runtime Environment (LMS RTE3) for playing and managing SCORM based Sharable Content Objects (SCOs).
aTutor, versie 1.6 is er ook in de Nederlandse vertaling, staat vooral bekend om de mogelijkheden het pakket in te stellen op de student met een functionele beperking.
ATutor is the first inclusive LCMS, complying with the W3C WCAG 1.0 accessibility specifications at the AA+ level, allowing access to all potential learners, instructors, and administrators, including those with disabilities who may be accessing the system using assistive technologies.
Dit is een specificatie waar te veel softwarehuizen die ELO’s in de markt zetten helemaal geen oog voor hebben. Het aTutor-ontwikkelteam van de Universiteit van Toronto gaat er al jaren terecht prat op deze specificatie te ondersteunen.
