Docenten, zoals zij die het gastcollege van Wilfred en Josee hebben bijgewoond, hebben misschien behoefte aan een follow up.

Kijk om je heen en er zijn genoeg voorbeelden te vinden, zou je daarop kunnen zeggen. Wat het iniatief van Work Literacy en de eLearning Guild bijzonder maakt is het onderscheid in drie ‘doelgroepen’. Niet iedere docent voelt zich namelijk direct geroepen om driftig te experimenteren met die overdaad aan web 2.0-tools of is direct vertrouwd met al die technologie. In sommige gevallen werpt dat ook meteen een drempel op.

Niet zo bij de online ervaring Work Literacy, de Ning community voor docenten die iets willen doen met  Web 2.0 tools of er gewoon iets meer van willen weten.

Het programma is veelzijdig en kan in een eigen tempo worden doorlopen:

Each week we will share new activities that will allow you to explore different Web 2.0 tools and discuss their implications for learning. The activities can be done at your own pace and will be hands-on.

Afhankelijk van belangstelling en persoonlijke voorkeur kunnen de activiteiten op drie niveaus worden gevolgd:

• The Spectator – These will be exercises or activities that should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The Spectator level is for people who want just a quick exploration of the tools and minimal interaction.

• The Joiner / Collector – For those who want to delve more deeply into a particular Web 2.0 tool, the Joiner / Collector level will consist of activities that take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
• The Creator – These activities are for people who want to really spend some time exploring and trying out a particular tool or set of tools. The activities will take approximately 75 minutes to complete, and will allow you to immerse yourself in the Web 2. 0 experience.

Deze manier van differentiëren, die zich al wat moeilijker laat realiseren in de vorm van een enkel gastcollege, is volgens mij navolgenswaardig. Deze benadering zou misschien ook de Cursus Web 2.0 met 23 dingen van Kennisnet goed doen. Niet elke docent is een creator die creatief is in het gebruik van nieuwe onderwijstechnologie.
